I recently Purchased a mini 14, the paper work asked if i have any felonies or if i was ever Charged with domestic violence, I Answered no to all the questions, however i was arrested while in the army for simple assault, Which is a misdemeanor . . . . . in did not pay a fine, of did not go to any court. . . . . I was told That Affect it Should not mu probability to get the rifle. . . however i just ran across someone who was Charged with a misdemeanor 8 yrs ago, he was turned down. does a simple assault charge matter? seeing That its not even mentioned on California’s DOJ website and it was not on the paper work. . do i have a reason to be worried? I was stationed in fast leonard wood at the time.

I received a misdemeanor about 4 years ago When I was in Santa Barbara, it was expunged a year later. I just received in respect of a job and They were doing a background check and They said something “came up” in Santa Barbara. They’ll be getting more information Within the next week. Is it Possible That What They Goodwill see Is that there was “something” that was expunged without any detail on it? Or is it more likely be that i am currently Mistaken and it was never expunged in the first place?

I have a friend who is starting a new job at a California company. Long story, but she speed a conviction (from another) That speed been “set aside,” which the state, That Means That charges were dismissed. She is starting a new job and They will do a background check. Under the laws, she Does not Have To check the box That speed he been convicted. But, it’s likely be That the conviction goodwill show up. What Should she tell the new company? Should she say something first, eventhough Technically she is no longer “convicted?” She (not me, lol) was originally convicted, but Because she was not fully Involved, the court allowed a “set aside” provision. The set-aside was eventually issued by the court, Which negates the original conviction. It is the equivalent to charges being dropped.

What is the purpose of background check and gun registration in California? To be more specific, can the law enforcement, legal system, or companies use That to my Disadvantage? For example, When you get stopped by a police officer for minor traffic Violations, can They tell if I am a gun owner and treat me differently from a non-gun owner before approaching? When you get arrested for A Different reason, say shoplifting, and Appear in court, does the judge give you a heavier sentence if you have a gun at home? During a job search, do government agencies or private companies check if you are a gun owner and Decides to not hire you Because You SEEM dangerous to them? I never bought a gun before. I am interested in buying one to DEFEND myself and for recreational Purposes, but I am wondering if That Can Have negative impacts on Other aspects of my life. Thanks alli am not thinking of concealing any gun. Just leaving it at home or Practicing at shooting ranges.
