California conviction for parking ticket arrest in 1977 does this show up in a background check?
If someone does a background check Will it show up? I am going to be going to work for a private music teaching company but there’s this hitch: They INSIST That no instructor They hire Can Have ever been arrested for any Cause whatsoever, innocent or guilty alike. I Realize They Are worried about drunk driving and child molestation, but if I with hold this information, They May Find Out. What do I do and what are my rights?

A ticket left on your window – or some type of warrantless For Many Unpaid?? Either way I do not think this capital crime from 1977 is on your record – i would not worry about that picture of you in bell bottom jeans and the leisure suit however. . .

You Can Go To The state’s DOC website and pull up Convictions. I pulled up a classmate’s that goes back 20 years, and a family friend’s, Which goes back 30 years. Many Employers use the 10-year address history to hunt for Criminal Convictions in Those Counties in Which you live. Sounds like you Have The Job Already? If I were you, I would not lie on an Employment application. You May Lose the job later, THEN you’d Have The conviction plus the firing on your record. Best bet is to ‘fess up and let the chips case elsewhere They May.

NC Mom said it right,,, own up to it from the start, and let someone else make The Decision. But, really, a 30 year old PARKING TICKET? That’s BULLS ** T! and IF They throw Tickets at you, you probably do not want to Work for Them Anyway. Good Luck
